DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. After a long journey, the evening is yours to rest and prepare for the safari ahead. Arusha, known as the gateway to Tanzania’s national parks, provides the perfect starting point for the adventure.
Day 2: Coffee Tour and Karatu
After breakfast, enjoy a fascinating coffee tour around Arusha, where you will learn about the process of coffee cultivation, one of Tanzania’s key exports. Following the tour, embark on a scenic drive to Karatu, passing through the stunning landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Karatu serves as the entryway to Ngorongoro, offering a blend of culture and nature as you explore the lush surroundings.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Set out for an early morning drive into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its incredible biodiversity. Often referred to as Africa’s ‘Garden of Eden,’ the crater floor is home to a wide range of animals, including lions, rhinos, elephants, and flamingos in the soda lakes. After an exhilarating game drive and a picnic lunch, you will proceed to the Serengeti, soaking in the stunning views along the way.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Full-Day Safari
Today is dedicated to exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti, one of the world’s most famous wildlife reserves. Known for the Great Migration, the Serengeti offers incredible opportunities to witness herds of wildebeest and zebras, as well as predators like lions and cheetahs. Your expert guide will help track wildlife across the plains, ensuring you don’t miss any of the Serengeti’s wonders.
Day 5: Transfer to Tarangire National Park
After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, you will journey to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a change in scenery and abundant wildlife. The park’s rivers provide vital water sources for many species, making it a hotspot for wildlife viewing, particularly during the dry season.
Day 6: Tarangire and Departure
Your final day starts with a game drive through Tarangire National Park, giving you one last chance to spot elephants, giraffes, and the park’s impressive birdlife. After the drive, you will be transferred back to Arusha, where your safari adventure concludes. From here, you can either head to the airport for your onward flight or extend your stay with more Tanzanian experiences.
